I know what you're thinking. Something like, "It's a stupid little fiiiiiish." or "It's so weak and useleeeeeess..."

Well, you shouldn't just judge on appearances! Did you know that a Magikarp that lives for a really long time can fly over a mountain using Splash? I'm pretty sure I've caught an ancient Magikarp, so I can cut back on travel time by latching onto him! Isn't that totally awesome?!

[He named the Absol after Other Her--- Anyway, Minato makes her way to the tower, her Duskull floating faithfully behind her. Her eyes brighten when she spots the Absol. SO. FLUFFY.]

The Absol is not amused with being called cute, but he's had to tolerate it for the last four months. He won't bite her ~~like he did Ryoji~~ but he won't bother to wait up for her as he heads into the tower.

Rude, maybe, but hey. His trainer didn't say for him to be nice or anything.

When they get to the top - hopefully without too many interruptions - Ryoji's just kind of standing by one of the windows. Looking out. It's really is nice. His Absol stakes a seat by his leg and stares at Minato expectantly. Hurry up girl your ~~date~~ catching up isn't going to wait forever.]

[dealwithit.gif, Mina-kun. After much stair climbing and monk battling, Minato finally reaches the top. It's not hard to spot Ryoji, since his long yellow scarf stood out in any crowd. Smiling, she walks up next to him, gazing out the same window.]

It really is a beautiful view, isn't it?

[He glances beside her, and returns the smile.]

Not quite as beautiful as the view beside me.

[-- It's different with her, somehow. Maybe because she knew him. Faced him. Chose to let him live. But he turns his gaze back out the window abruptly, feeling strange. He can't quite place a name to it - he isn't nervous, and he doesn't feel afraid, but thee's. Something.

She really was much prettier in person, though.]

I hope Mina-kun didn't give you too much trouble. He's still pretty unfriendly to strangers, but he's not as bad as he used to be.

[Minato couldn't help but give a small laugh at Ryoji's flattery. Same as ever. She didn't mind the lightening of the mood at all.

At the mention of his Absol, Minato glances at Mina-kun, then back to the window, shaking her head.]

No, he wasn't any trouble at all. Then again, you could say that I know that type of personality pretty well.

[It reminded her of Shinjiro, in a way.

The view of the city from above was a bit... nostalgic in a way. She remembered something similar to this happening before.]

... I shared a pretty view like this with someone before, on Gekkoukan's rooftop.

Was it with me? [He sounds a little sad, but he's smiling! So it's not all bad.] That makes me feel a little self-centered, asking that.

[...But he knows he was special to her, if the way she acted was any hint. Might as well get the weirdness out of the way.]

[Minato gives a light laugh, and then a nod.]

Yeah, it was. I'd never forget that day~

[It was the day Ryoji told her how he felt, after all! Not just about herself, but about how he felt when he was all alone. How he was scared of many things, like tomorrow coming or losing his friends.

Suddenly, Minato claps her hands rather loudly as she remembers something, and turns to him.]

Ah! I nearly forgot! I wanted to give you something, Ryoji-kun! Gimme your hand! Do it now! Do it do it do it! [PUSHINESS TO THE MAX.]

[Ryoji tries not to appear too startled as he does as she asks. He's terrible at hiding the heart on his sleeve, but it's-- all right. Minato-chan already knows about him, so there's no need to hide anything, right--?]

What is it?

[Minato smile becomes a bit more calm as she watches Ryoji do as he's told. She reaches into her uniform pocket and pulls out a small object. She takes the hand he holds out, and slips the simple silver ring onto his finger.]

Here. I'm returning this.

Returning..?

[The metal's warm, since it was in her pocket. He inspects the ring and remembers he had considered buying one in Kyoto, but hadn't because there was no one special enough to gift it to. Something hurts within him, even though he's never had anything with her -- in his time.

But he knows something happened between them. A lot of things.

And it hurts to think he's hurt her, even accidentally.]

I think you should keep it, Minato-chan. It holds all of your precious memories, doesn't it?

[Which is why he'll slip it off his finger and smile (sadly), holding it out.]

[Minato is taken aback at this. The truth was, she really didn't think she could bear holding onto it in these circumstances. Plus...]

This ring carries a message... "I was here once." I didn't think I need that reminder now that I've seen you again...

[More like... She wanted to leave proof of her own existence somehow, in that way. Maybe that time isn't now though. She'll just sigh and pocket the ring.]

But I get it. If you find someone here that you want to pass that reminder to, just let me know.

[She'll quickly turn back to the window and change the subject. It's... really not like her to be so flustered, but she doesn't want to show it.]

Hey, Ryoji-kun. Tell me about myself! This other me sounds really interesting... Even though I know nothing about him yet!
